This is just a few of the highlights that were included in Tukana Teina Time With Room 1. First, we decorated cookies and then ate them. Then, we played with play dough and other toys.

This is my 'Multiplication In Parts Strategy Poster'. In this poster it shows a strategy that can be used for multiplication questions. My learning intention was to learn how to solve multiplication questions by using the strategy 'Multiplication in Parts'.

This is a screenshot taken from the 'Sentence Challenge'. In this challenge you have to take the right blocks and place them into the available holes. The blocks have sentences or words written on them. You have to make sure they make sense.

Why do people migrate to New Zealand?

Economic reasons I believe, is a main motivator towards decisions to migrate to New Zealand. According to information collected from ‘Statistics’, the majority of motives towards moving from residence to residence is employment. From the age groups 20 to 69 years old, majority of reasons from moving are all economic motives. Due to economic growth during the 60’s, New Zealand's population increased due to immigrants.

Our task was to explain in our own words why people migrate to NZ. The skill we were practising was to find evidence, to support our thinking.

This is the Apostrophe Challenge. This website allowed the student to change a few words to make a contraction. 

Contraction Challenge

This week Room 9 was set three kinds of challenges. One of the challenges included the 'Contraction Challenge'. I completed this challenge accurately.

Today at technology studies, the year 7 students from Panmure Bridge School were applying codes in a programming application. We used blocks that gave commands to a character that made the avatar complete its instructed actions. 

Grammar Focus: The Apostrophe Challenge

This is my presentation that includes activities of 'The Apostrophe Challenge'. The whole class was set this challenge. The whole of room 9 completed and marked it together.

Don't Shoot The Square!

This is a website that a few students were set to complete. Today four students learnt about square numbers and roots. In this game we had to carefully make out what numbers were squares and not shoot them. Unfortunately, I hit 5 square numbers! I think I need to work on my accuracy.

Tears of the Albatross

This is a poster that includes information of this weeks story for reading. It retells the story of 'Tears of the Albatross". I rewrote this story for our follow-up task.
