                                            My Report on Valerie Adams


 Introduction: 
Valerie Adams is a very strong well-known New Zealand shot putter. Valerie is still performing and touring around the world competing against others to make New Zealand proud. The day the 2012 Olympics start New Zealand knows she will make us proud.


 Valerie Kasanita Adams was born on the 6th October 1984 in Rotorua New Zealand, that makes her 27 years old now. Valerie’s father is English born and her mother was Tongan. She also has several brothers. Valerie belongs to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.


 As a teenager Valerie was very shy. When she went to high school she took part in basketball. During P.E lessons her teacher noticed she and a good set of forearms.


 Her mother died when she was only 15. Valerie was devastated because her mother was her inspiration. In 2010 she divorced her husband Bertrand Villi.


 Valerie’s first coach was Kristen Hellier. Kristen Hellier was a very well known javelin thrower. Her second coach was Dider Pope. Her coach right now is Jean Pierre Egger.


 She broke the record for shot put in bare feet in the junior championship. She won a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Won another gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. At the Beijing Games she threw the shot put at 20.56 m.


 She won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. In Jamaica she threw a shot put at 17.73 m. She won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games. At the Melbourne Games she threw a shot put at 19.66 m. Valerie’s personal best with shot put is 20.69 m .


 At the moment she is living in Switzerland. She is 27 , height 6.5 and 120 kilograms. 


 Valerie Kasanita Adams is a very well known champion in New Zealand. Her world records may be broken but to NZ she is a winner. She is a very strong woman and will not be forgotten.
